Seven High Court Judges Transferred
The Hon. Principal Judge, Hon. Justice Dr Bamwine

Seven Judges of the High Court have been transferred in a mini reshuffle made by Principal Judge, Hon. Justice Dr. Yorokamu Bamwine, who is the administrative head of the High Court and courts below.

According to a circular dated April 6, 2018 from the Principal Judge, seven judges have been transferred from their current stations to new ones.

The new changes have seen Hon. Justice Wilson Masalu Musene who has been heading the High Court in Mpigi transferred to Fort Portal as Resident Judge.

Hon. Justice Vincent Okwanga who has been the Resident Judge Gulu now moves to the Criminal Division while Anthony Oyuko Ojok who has been in Fort Portal has been posted to head the court in Arua.

Newly appointed Judge, Hon. Lady Justice Olive Kazaarwe Mukwaya who was a few weeks ago posted to the Commercial Court has been transferred to the Family Division of the High Court and Justice Emmanuel Baguma who had been posted to Gulu is now deployed in Mpigi.

Hon. Justice Wejuli Wabwire who had been deployed in Fort Portal is now posted at the Commercial Court in Kampala.

The circular from the Principal Judge however clarifies that the fresh deployments are subject to completion of the partly heard cases that are in advanced stages.

"There should be delivery of pending judgments and rulings preferably before taking on new work at the new stations," the circular reads in part.
